What's new in Lima?

Family!
What a blessing to have Grandmommy and Poppy Dennis here for a few weeks for the birth of Isa! We were able to spend some great time with them before baby Isa was born. They saw some great spots in Lima and enjoyed some yummy Peruvian food! This was Poppy Dennis' first time in Peru, so Daniel took him out on the town a lot while Grandmommy stayed at home with the girls.
Here are a gazillion pictures from their adventures <3

Welcome Isa Elén!
We welcomed our 3rd daughter, Isa (ee-suh), on Saturday, September 4th! She ended up being born by c-section because the umbilical cord was around her neck and it prohibited her from dropping. Mary and Isa are doing well; Ellie and Adela are elated to have a new baby sister to love and dress; and Daniel is enjoying being Papá to 3 little girls :) Once again we are reminded of the beauty, goodness, and love of our Abba through this tiny new life.
We want to thank all of you for your prayers and also the very generous online baby shower! We are so blessed by your support and love!

Adela's 5!!!
Our sweet baby girl turned 5 on August 31st! We were able to celebrate with family and her buddies in the community. The only thing she wanted for her birthday was a purple and pink bicycle, donuts on the table, and decorations ready for when she woke up in the morning :)
We're so grateful for Adela and how's she's grown these past couple of years. Please continue to pray for her through all of the change this season: new baby sister, an upcoming trip, new schedules, etc.

Our Community in La Calera

One of the ways we felt the Lord asking us to reach our neighborhood, La Calera, ever since we moved here is by living like Jesus and loving the people around us in the day to day. Honestly, at first it seemed that we were wasting our time and God's because we weren't seeing any "fruit" from what seemed like the small stuff: greeting neighbors, hanging out in the park every day, going to the same corner store and restaurants every week, chit chatting with people on the side walk about their cute dog :) But what we couldn't see is that the Lord was moving. He was forming relationships. Now we are starting to see the fruit of these seemingly small efforts:
Some of the neighbors that we greeted everyday are now part of our church family, the girls have made friends with kids at the park and we've had a few of their families over for dinner and play. Daniel has had some great conversations about Jesus with the guy who runs the corner store, he also made a friend with a guy from Venezuela who works at the chicken restaurant we always go to (this man was part of the symphony of Venezuela and really connected with Daniel over music; he has been coming to our worship practices, hearing and even practicing songs about Jesus with our team, experiencing our bible study and prayer time, and enjoying what it feels like to be part of a community/family).
Mary has given English lessons to some folks and found that there is a lot of opportunity to connect with people in the community this way. Also, since the girls are being homeschooled this year, there are a lot of opportunities to connect with other homeschooling families in the area.
Ellie was part of a neighborhood basketball team for a while until the weather got to cold to practice outside. She made some buddies and shined the light of Jesus. She is looking forward to starting basketball again or looking for an art class.
These are just a few of the ways Jesus is using our family here in La Calera. And it's nothing extraordinary that we are doing, it's the Holy Spirit going before us, with us and after us working in and waking up people's hearts.

Changes in Nueva Vida Lima

This has been a season of change for our church family. The lead pastor Matt and his wife Edith have felt the Lord calling them in another direction and are officially being sent off in November of this year. After prayer and counsel, Daniel accepted the call to be lead pastor starting mid-November. In these past months, we've begun the transition. Daniel has started to teach more often and step into a pastoral role. We will still be acting as the worship leaders through the transition. Please be praying that the Lord will raise leaders in our worship team to start sharing the leadership role.
Please keep our family in your prayers. We are excited to see what the Lord is doing here in our church family and our community. At the same time, we know the responsibility and changes that come with a transition like this are nothing light or easy. So thankful that we're not alone! We are 100% dependent on Jesus and the work that the Holy Spirit is doing through us and in us.

Upcoming Trip to the States

We didn't think we'd get to visit again so soon but God had other plans ;) Because Daniel is taking the lead pastor position, the pastoral team at New Life Community Church is asking us to spend most of October in Chicago for training and a conference. We will be in Tulsa from September 25th to the first or second week of October. Then off to Chicago until the 30th.
We'll return to Tulsa for a couple of days and fly out to Lima again.

As you can imagine, we're all very excited! If you have time that week that we're in Tulsa, we'd love to meet with you. Shoot us an email or Facebook message and we can work something out.
